This project was a renovation to the existing facility with the addition of a classroom space to be used for community outreach and education. Funding was primarily through CDBG with the focus on updating the HVAC and replacing the roof. My role as Project Manager included working with the staff to assess and prioritize their needs. I worked with the nurses to incorporate their ideas and wishes for their new space. In addition to the classroom and new lobby, the reception and check-in space were redesigned to increase efficiency and provide better patient care. Restrooms were renovated and made accessible. The new classroom is used to provide training and education to the community on various topics and will also serve as a Red Cross Disaster Relief Headquarters should the need arise. Patients at the Early County Health Department are now able to receive a better quality of care in their new facility.
