Little Me Academy Expansion
1100 SF | education occupancy w/in mixed use | raby construction | childs architecture
Teaming with Raby Construction to upfit one of the shell spaces in the O'Neal Village Commercial Center, I was able to continue with my design to create a space for the Little Me Academy to grow its classrooms and provide childcare for more working families. While only 1100 SF, the biggest challenge this project posed was working with so many different entities and making sure that the requirements of each one were satisfied: SCDSS, State Fire Marshal, local officials, etc. Located in the end unit, the exterior wall has a 2-hour rating due to its proximity to the property line. Safety and security of the 2 and 3 year olds was also critical. It was very rewarding to visit the site with the photographer to see how everything had come together, and witness the children and teachers enjoying their new space.
